In 1998 the Dalai Lama performed the hair-cutting ceremony for Jamgon Yangsi, as he is also known, in Bodhgaya. He was recognized by the 17th Karmapa as the fourth incarnation of the great Jamgon Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye, a great scholar and meditator who lived in the 19th century and left an enormous legacy to all the lineages of Tibetan Buddhism. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche Mingyur Drakpa Senge was born in 1995 as the son of the most senior and great Karma Kagyu master Beru Khyentse Rinpoche. ![]()
